Who I am

My name is Caroline, and I’m a recent college graduate, from Southern California. I graduated with a degree in American Studies and Ethnicity, and a Spanish minor. I discovered this blog world in Fall of 2008, and I absolutely love it!  I started my own in November, and while food was definitely a starting point, it is really about life, friendship and so much more.  I graduated from college in May, moved back home and began experimenting and making a mess of my kitchen.  I spent my new-found time job searching, workin’ out, dancing, hanging out with friends and family, reading, and volunteering at church with junior highers.  While it was strange to have this unintentional time off, I realized the importance of building relationships, enjoying life, and finding meaning and joy in everything I do.

I made the decision in January of 2009 to go back to school for nursing.  I evaluated my passions in life, my desire for a work/life balance, and the fulfillment I get from helping and interacting with others.  I’m still taking my prerequisite courses at this point, and while it’s not an easy road, I am so excited to see where it takes me.  If I’m going to spend the rest of my life doing something, I better love it!

Finally, I got the amazing opportunity to move to Boston in Summer of 2009.  It was a huge change for a girl who hadn’t lived farther than an hour from home.  I love my job, apartment, roommate and friends here, and just miss my friends and family on the West Coast!  This blog means so much to me, and it’s pretty amazing to be able to look back at my journey in the past 2 years.  I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve made, and can’t wait to see what’ else is in store.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Caroline! Just came across your blog by accident and it was TOO cute!! I love that you document your breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and the FroYo which believe me, I understand needing that EVERY night!) I just graduated from college too and I’m on the prowl for jobs, apartments, blah blah ugh stressful isnt it? Congrats on your new place in Boston too. Thats the best city you could possibly move to in the U.S. I’m obsessed with it. And its nice to see a fellow young healthy eater doing her best to make good, delicious meals that won’t overdo it. I’d LOVE to share good recipe ideas and some of these places in Boston that you’re going out to eat sounds fabulous, I have to visit them Asap!!!
