Flyin’ Solo

Hey there!  I’m doing my best to brave the chilly weather today…it’s really not bad- I just have to make sure to be dressed for it!  I just speed-walk home from class…dreaming of my space heater, hot shower, blankies, etc.  The occasional pumpkin-spice latte will call to me…and of course I have to answer ;D

Breakfast was the ush- I love my big window..but I think my mom is making me curtains, which I hope will bring the room together a little more.

I went to class and got out early after my teacher got a call about her mother having an accident :(   She seemed really upset and it made me sad.  It was very brisk and windy outside so I made the fastest warm meal I could think of, eggs + toasty pita +cheese!!

My roomie and I hit up the gym and my new obsession: THE STEAM ROOM…Holy heat this place is amazing!!  At first I was terrified and felt short of breath and claustrophobic-borderline-freaking out…but she calmed me down and we sat in there for about 10-15 minutes.  It’s kind of like going to Bikram- minus the hard work ;D  You just sit there and sweat out all the toxins and ahem (spray tan??) and relax!  I loved it and the balance bar I ate on the way home.

I’ve been making salads for dinner lately, but the craving is slowly dissipating as the weather gets colder.

Last night was chicken + salsa + tomatoes + BBQ + pita chips.

AND more ice cream of course!!  MMMM..

My mom sent me the leopard print bowl that I painted myself, yay!  I like having some of my own dishware out here, it really helps me feel at home at my new place :)

My roommate informed me she found a baller fare for a flight home this weekend- so she’s leaving me!! :(   Actually, she asked me if it was OK if she left..haha, obviously I wasn’t going to be the brat that keeps her from going home!!  I’m not gonna lie….it totally planted a seedling of desire in me to go home too for the weekend!  I immediately started looking up flares and flights.  I’ve kept thinking about it, and as much as I want to go home, I think it will be good for me to just stay and go about my life here in Boston, not to mention save some dollaz!!  I have friends here I can call to hang out with, homework and studying to be tackled, and Gossip Girl DVD’s to watch!  So while I do miss home a lot, I’m excited to have a weekend here to relax, run some errands, and just explore this awesome city a little more.  Please feel free to pray that the rain they are predicting will miraculously NOT happen :D   Hope u all have exciting weekend plans!

Yummy oats! Don’t you love big windows??? I’m sooo happy my new place has tons of light! I’m not sure about the whole apple picking this weekend. The weather calls for lots of rain, but I’ll keep you posted!

CBers you will rock the cold weather this season, no sweat! :D

Oh a steam room, how divine! I bet it’s awesome. I would totally do that in a heartbeat!

Those eggs look great. And speed walking is a life style in this area during the fall and winter. :-)

I love the steam room. Especially after a long cardio session. Just makes you feel relaxed.

Mm I love the looks of that eggy pita.

Aw doll! I wanted to go home this weekend too, but ultimately I decided to stay. I think you made the right decision. You’ll prove to yourself and your inner doubt that you can do it :) I know you’ll enjoy some relaxing time alone. Thinking of you!

Hi hun, you’re not a brat for keeping you roomie around. :) It’s always more comfortable to have company around in a strange new place not quite “home” yet. I love the bowl you painted and I think it’s such a fantastic idea to have it with you in Boston!

I totally know what you mean about the lack of excitement for salads once the weather starts getting cold. Nothing better than hot comport food and soup in the fall! Hang in there, i bet you’ll be up to something fun…like steam room hook ups? hahaha ok just kidding!!!

  8. jenngirl Says:

Aw, enjoy your weekend…sometimes “me” time is exactly what helps me to recharge! Just think of all the fun you’ll have with the place to yourself :)

I try to turn my bathroom in my own personal steam room — my daddy hates it (has this whole thing with wasting water? what gives?? ;) !)

p.s. don’t forget to email me with your address muchacha!

I don’t even want to talk about the cold!! It’s too early for this k-rap! Hope your teacher’s mom is okay – scary, scary :(

My bestie is in her new city from August until Christmas without any time to get home. On one hand she misses everyone but on the other she likes that it’s kind of forcing her to adjust to her new life. Hope you enjoy your weekend of ‘me’ time – I’m only a BBM away :)
