Shiver me Timbers

Hello lova’s and friends (Luda!!)  Even after going to bed exhausted at 11:30, I was up at six and ready to go!  So I just ate some toast, had coffee, and decided to blog.  Pictures are somewhat sporadic- still figuring out work + summer fun+ blogging :)

Thursday night- my fam combined forces and came up with a solid meal!  Sweet potato wedges courtesy of momz, steamed broccoli and differently-seasoned chicken grilled by my step-dad.  We all ate outside togetha- so picturesque.

These are little tomato babies from our garden!   They are growing outta control and are very delicious to munch on whilst cooking or foraging in the kitchen.

SO in other fantastic news- guess who got out of J-duty all week, hollaaa!!!  I called Thursday night and was finally safe…so I worked the early shift at camp just for the day to cover one of my friends who jetted off to Vegas.  I brought my breakfast in a tupperware because I left so early.  Luckily we have a microwave at camp so the oat bran was live and in color!

My home photography set-up is way more aesthetically pleasing, no??

So as I’ve mentioned, Friday is our BBQ day at camp.  The kids can bring whatever they want to BBQ, or a side dish like fruit, chips or dessert.  One little girl brought Dodger Dogs- which are somewhat “famous” (infamous) hot dogs served at Dodger Baseball games that are the length of two regular wieners!!  Yes it says “extra long wieners” on the packaging.

My boss (who is my fellow healthy eater in crime) checked the nutrition info on these babies:  something like, 200 calories, 190 from fat, 14 g saturated fat, and 8 grams of protein!!  For that whole dog!!  The ingredients are basically salt, water and fat :O  Haha, the kiddies love it though!!

AND then….there were these.  My downfall!!!

My boss and I grilled some Morningstar burgs, with tomato, hummus, ketchup, mustard and lettuce on WW buns, best ever!!

Friday was also….Pirate Day!!!

Camp is awesome.

Last night, my step-popz and I went to dinner and a movie.  I ate Mexican food, got fro-yo :)   Nothing out of the norm!  We saw Angels and Demons- whoa intense.  It was really good, definitely kept me on the edge of my seat!!  I just love love Tom Hanks so much, he can do no wrong in my book.  The movie got almost a tad outrageous near the end…but it kept twisting and turning, and I left ultimately satisfied.  I do this thing where I cover my whole face and stare at one tiny corner of the upper right hand screen during scary/violent parts…so I might have missed a full scene or two :D   Have any of you seen it?  Love, hate??

Love the pirate costumes – the kiddos are so cute. The camp you work at really seems like a great place and you can really tell how much you enjoy it.
I have not seen that movie but I would like to. I agree with you, Tom Hanks is a fab actor.
So funny, I do the same thing during a scary scene. I usually ask my husband to tell me when it is over. I am such a chicken and do not like horror movies or gruesome details at all.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
